| According to her file, Elle's real name is Jaye Cardinal, she has a long history of mental disorder, and her loving father, William "Bill" Cardinal, has placed her in the Institute for her own good. Her anti-social personality disorder and delusions stem from witnessing her grandmother's death from illness when she was six years old. She was brought to several psychologists as a child, and was deemed well enough to continue living with her father rather than in an institution. When she was old enough, she went to work for him at his paper company. But by the time she was 24, she'd gotten out of hand, even inventing a whole other life for herself in which she was a supervillain, and her father finally placed her in the expert care of Dr. Landel. | |

But if you tell her anything to suggest that her father doesn't love her as much as she loves him, expect a massive hissy fit (that doesn't mean you can't, though; in fact, it's encouraged). As to whether she could/would canon-puncture anyone else: she's very familiar with pop culture from the '90s, but would probably shy away from saying anything except to handsome male celebrities. If that's the case, expect a tiny bit of fangirling (but in that weird Elle way). Anything from past her adolescence (ie. very late '90s and later) she might know but would probably be fuzzy on and definitely wouldn't say anything. | |
